Herbert Smith Freehills recently announced the appointment of Stanley Xie, a partner in the firm's Capital Markets practice, as head of the Beijing office and chief representative.
Stanley Xie has a long history of advising investment banks and corporate clients on capital markets transactions in the Asia Pacific region, covering a wide range of industries including healthcare, TMT, consumer products, financial services, education, energy and natural resources, and real estate. He joined Herbert Smith Freehills in 2007 and has been managing partner of the Herbert Smith Freehills Kewei (FTZ) joint operation since its inception in 2019, before rejoining Herbert Smith Freehills' Hong Kong office in 2023.
In July this year, Herbert Smith Freehills announced that Matt Emsley would be replaced by Jojo Fan as Managing Partner of China. In addition, Mr Xie's appointment marks a further refresh of the senior management team in China.
