On 18 April 2024, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited ("HKEX") officially announced the formation of Ms. Lilian Cheng, who will replace Adam Singer as the Group Chief Compliance Officer on 1 May 2024. Henceforth, she would be responsible for the compliance function across the HKEX Group in Hong Kong, Mainland China and internationally, reporting to HKEX Chief Executive Officer Bonnie Y Chan.
Lilian Cheng, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Zhong Shan (Sun Yat-sen) University in China, and is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Fraud Examiner. Prior to joining the HKSE, she was Global Head of Capital and Behaviours, Enterprise Risk Management at HSBC. She also held compliance, consulting and audit positions at Goldman Sachs, Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Adam Singer was Managing Director, Head of Core Compliance and Operational Risk for Asia Pacific at JPMorgan. He served as Chief Compliance Director of HKSE in 2021 and was a member of the Management Committee. He will leave HKEX in May 2024 to explore opportunities outside the HKEX Group.
